Pipes, pipes, pipes, the most ancient of the smoking apparats, and they still rank #1 in popularity with smokers. Pipes have been the ubiquitous choice of herb and tobacco smokers for many centuries. They’re accessible, non-intimidating, easy to use, and come in every shape and size you can think of.
Today, we have more buying options than the ancients. If you can imagine it as a pipe, chances are, it exists. And almost just as varied as their different designs, pipes come in a slew of materials: glass, wood, and more.

Glass

How do you smoke a bowl with a pipe?
Use a grinder, scissors, or your fingers to break up your dried flowers into tiny pieces. The goal is to get a finer texture for more even burning and a better experience. Load your bowlpack into the bowl of the pipe, while covering the carb with your finger if there is one. Place your lips on the mouthpiece and light one half of the packed bowl, while slowly inhaling. Occasionally remove and replace your finger on the carb to control smokeflow. Exhale and enjoy.

Hand pipes made from glass are more solid than your longer styles and don’t break as easily. You also have your range of choices in bowl size, from 2-hitters to huge spoon bowls. It was a tough decision to pick the best overall pipe, but in the end, we think this is the most tried-and-true choice.
Best On-the-Go Pipe - Dugout w/One Hitter

We initially were choosing between filters, screens, and pipe cleaners, when someone brought up the fact that none of these items add to the smoking experience in a way that’s close to the grinder.
