Hybrid dab rigs do the work of two pieces at once, and we carry them in every style worth owning, from compact silicone combos to full-size glass builds.

What Is a Hybrid Dab Rig?

A hybrid dab rig is exactly what it sounds like: one piece built to handle both dry herb and concentrates. Pack the bowl when you want flower. Swap to a banger or nail when you want wax. One water chamber, two functions, zero fumbling around with a second setup. Some people call them bong dab rig combos, 2-in-1 rigs, or hybrid bongs. They all describe the same idea: a single piece of glass or silicone engineered to cover both bases without compromising either.

Types of Hybrid Dab Rigs We Carry

Glass Hybrid Rigs

Glass is still the go-to for flavor. A glass hybrid rig gives you clean, unobstructed hits whether you are smoking herb or dabbing concentrates. Many are made with thick borosilicate so they can take daily use without flinching. Check out our glass dab rigs if you want to go deeper into that category.

Silicone Hybrid Rigs

Silicone hybrid rigs are for the person who drops things. They are nearly indestructible, fold up for travel, and clean up fast. Most pair a silicone body with a glass bowl and a quartz banger, so you still get decent flavor where it counts. Our silicone dab rigs collection has the full run of them.

Mini Hybrid Rigs

A smaller hybrid rig is portable without being a dedicated travel piece. Shorter stem, smaller chamber, same two-in-one functionality. If you want something you can move from room to room without thinking about it, start with our mini dab rigs selection.

Recycler Hybrid Rigs

Recycler hybrids run the water through a second chamber before it hits your lungs. The result is smoother, cooler hits on concentrates especially. They look more complex than a standard rig, and they are, but the payoff in smoothness is real. See more in our recycler dab rigs and bongs collection.

What to Look for in a Hybrid Dab Rig

Joint size and gender. Most hybrids come with either a 14mm or 18mm joint. Make sure the banger and bowl you plan to use match the joint size on the piece. A mismatch means adapters, and adapters mean more things to lose.

Included accessories. A good hybrid rig should come with at least a quartz banger for concentrates and a bowl piece for flower. Some include both. If a piece only ships with one, factor in the cost of the other before you check out.

Percolation. More percs mean cooler, smoother hits, but they also mean more surface area to clean. A single showerhead or inline perc is usually enough for a hybrid setup. You are not chasing cloud competition here, you are chasing versatility.

Glass thickness. For a piece you are swapping attachments in and out of regularly, thicker glass matters. Look for 4mm or 5mm borosilicate if you want it to last. Thin glass and frequent accessory swaps are a bad combination.

Hybrid Rig FAQ

What is the difference between a hybrid dab rig and a regular bong?

A standard bong is built for dry herb only. A hybrid rig is designed to work with both a bowl for flower and a banger or nail for concentrates. The joint angle, water level, and chamber size on a hybrid are typically optimized to handle both, rather than being tuned specifically for one.

Can I use a regular bong as a dab rig?

Technically yes, if the joint size matches your banger. But a standard bong has a larger chamber designed to cool herb smoke over more distance, which can diffuse the terpene-rich vapor from concentrates before it reaches you. A hybrid rig is sized and shaped to give you better flavor from concentrates while still working well for flower. It is a real difference you will notice. Read more on our dabbing blog if you want to go deeper on rig sizing.

What accessories do I need for a hybrid dab rig?

At minimum: a quartz banger for concentrates and a bowl piece for herb, both in the right joint size. Beyond that, a carb cap for your banger, a dab tool, and a torch if you are not going the e-nail route. Our head shop blog covers the essential dabbing accessories worth having.

Are hybrid rigs good for beginners?

They are actually a smart starting point. Instead of buying a bong and a separate dab rig, you get both in one purchase. That means less money spent upfront and less clutter on your shelf. If you are still figuring out which consumption style you prefer, a hybrid rig lets you try both without committing to two separate pieces.
