Electric dab rigs come in more styles, price points, and heat technologies than most people expect, and we stock the ones that actually hold up.
An electric dab rig, often called an e-rig, replaces the traditional torch-and-banger setup with a self-contained electronic heating system. You load your concentrate, set your temperature, and inhale. No lighter, no torch, no guessing. The result is cleaner flavor, more consistent vapor, and a session that takes seconds to start instead of minutes. If you've ever scorched a dab or waited forever for a nail to cool, you already understand the appeal.
Built for the session, not the commute. Desktop units tend to offer larger water chambers, more powerful batteries or direct power connections, and advanced temperature controls. These are the rigs you set up on a table and leave there. They hit hard, they're precise, and they don't cut corners on vapor quality.
Compact enough to fit in a bag or a jacket pocket, portable e-rigs are the fastest-growing segment in our collection. Most run on rechargeable batteries and heat up in under thirty seconds. If you want the full concentrate experience without being tethered to a wall outlet, this is your category. Browse our portable electric dab rig pens for the slimmest options we carry.
Affordable does not have to mean flimsy. Several brands have figured out how to deliver solid vapor quality and reliable temperature control at prices that don't sting. If cost is a real factor, check out our dedicated electric dab rigs under $100 and cheap electric dab rig collections, which are filtered specifically for the budget-conscious shopper.
Temperature control: Precise temp settings matter more for concentrates than almost any other factor. Low temps (around 315 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit) preserve terpenes and flavor. Higher temps (450 to 600 degrees) push bigger clouds. A rig that lets you dial in the exact number beats one that only offers preset modes.
Atomizer type: The atomizer is the heating element that actually contacts your concentrate. Quartz, ceramic, and titanium each behave differently. Quartz heats fast and tastes clean. Ceramic retains heat longer and distributes it evenly. Titanium is nearly indestructible. Know which material fits your priorities before you buy.
Battery life: A rig with a weak battery becomes frustrating fast. Look for units with at least 1500mAh if portability matters to you. Many better models support pass-through charging, so you can use them while plugged in.
Water filtration: Most electric rigs include a glass or silicone water attachment. That filtration cools vapor and makes each hit smoother. If the rig you're considering skips water filtration entirely, factor that into your comfort expectations.
App connectivity: Higher-end e-rigs often pair with a smartphone app for custom temperature profiles, session tracking, and firmware updates. It's not essential, but it adds a level of control that serious dabbers tend to appreciate once they try it.
Start with your lifestyle. Do you dab at home only, or do you want something you can bring places? That one question cuts the field in half immediately. From there, set a real budget and stick to it. Our collection covers everything from entry-level units to premium devices from brands like Puffco and Dr. Dabber, so there's no reason to overspend on features you won't use. If you're newer to concentrates, our dabbing blog breaks down the basics and helps you understand what heat profiles and concentrate types pair well together.
Also think about maintenance. E-rigs with removable, dishwasher-safe water attachments and easy-to-swap atomizers save you real time. Residue buildup kills flavor faster than people expect, so a rig that's easy to clean is a rig you'll actually keep using.
Better is relative, but e-rigs are more consistent, safer without a torch, and easier for newer users to learn on. Traditionalists argue that torching a quartz banger still delivers the purest hit, and they're not entirely wrong. Most people who switch to e-rigs, though, don't go back. The convenience wins.
No. Electric dab rigs are designed specifically for concentrates like wax, shatter, live resin, rosin, and similar extracts. If you want an electronic device for dry herb, look at our electric vape collection instead.
The most important habit is wiping the atomizer with a cotton swab after each use while it's still slightly warm. For deeper cleaning, isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs handle most residue. The water attachment can usually be rinsed with warm water or soaked in ISO. Check your specific unit's manual before soaking any electronic components. Our dabbing blog has cleaning guides worth bookmarking.
Most e-rigs benefit from a good carb cap, a dab tool, and a concentrate container. Some rigs also accept third-party water attachments for upgraded filtration. Browse our electric dab nails and electric dab tools to round out your setup without hunting across multiple sites.
When I first got it, I was so disapointed,so plane Jane, just a dull all black box with a nipple to suck on.
But when I used it, things changed, it lit up into a colorful display! cool! Now I can get "stoned" at will & it feels so good!
\It's a good product, easy to use, very effective colorful eye candy.
The pipes ordered are very nice! They were packaged so carefully too. Very pleased.
Definitely holds heat longer than the cap that comes with the Hyderdyn.

Carved Wood Hand Pipe w/ Stone Bowl
This is a small glass water pipe that works well. I like that it is made in the USA and is still inexpensive.
You can only fill the round part at the bottom about half way or else you might inhale water. Other than that no issues at all.
Love the item I received
I'm loving this device! I grew up with a dead head father. He passed away 12yrs ago. So I think this is awesome! Thank you!!
