Every dab rig nail we carry earns its spot, from budget-friendly titanium starters to precision-ground quartz bangers built for serious heat retention.
Dab rig nails are the business end of your concentrate setup. Heat goes in, your material lands on the nail, and everything about your hit depends on what that nail is made of, how thick it is, and how well it holds temperature. Swap a cheap nail for a quality one and the same rig can feel like a completely different experience. That is not an exaggeration. It is just heat science.
Quartz is the most popular choice right now, and for good reason. It heats fast, cools predictably, and does not add any metallic or ceramic flavor to your dab. Thick-bottomed quartz bangers hold heat longer and give you that slow, controlled melt that terp chasers love. Pair one with a good carb cap and you are getting the most out of every dab.
Titanium nails are indestructible. They heat up quickly, handle repeated torching without cracking, and work with adjustable universal designs that fit multiple joint sizes. If you are hard on your gear or just want something that will outlast everything else in your kit, titanium is the one. Just let it season before your first use.
Ceramic holds heat longer than almost anything else, which makes it great for low-temperature dabbing. The tradeoff is that it takes a bit longer to heat up and it is more fragile than titanium. Patients who dab for flavor and prefer a slower, cooler session tend to reach for ceramic.
Glass nails are entry-level in the best way. They are affordable, clean-tasting, and easy to replace. They do not hold heat as well as quartz or ceramic, but they get the job done for casual dabbers who are not obsessing over temperature curves.
If you have moved past the torch, you will want a nail designed to work with a coil or electronic controller. These nails are built to thread or clip onto heating elements and maintain a steady temperature without any guesswork. Check out our eNails collection and our Electric Dab Nails if you are going that route.
Joint size is the first thing to check. Most rigs run a 14mm or 18mm joint, and you need to know whether yours is male or female before you order. A male joint takes a female nail, and vice versa. Get this wrong and nothing fits.
Material is next, and that comes down to your dabbing style. Chasing flavor at low temps? Quartz or ceramic. Need something durable that survives daily use? Titanium. Looking for an affordable starting point? Glass works fine.
Wall thickness matters in quartz especially. Thicker walls mean better heat retention, slower cool-down, and more even vaporization. Thin walls heat fast but lose temperature just as quickly, which can lead to wasted material.
Finally, think about the nail style. Flat-top bangers are the most popular right now because they work well with directional carb caps. Thermal nails have a double-wall design that reduces splashing. Bucket nails offer a classic shape that a lot of older rigs were built around.
A banger is a type of dab nail. The word nail originally referred to the spike-style or flat-dish designs that came first. Bangers are the bucket-shaped version that most people use today. When someone says "dab nail" now, they usually mean any nail or banger that connects to their rig. We carry both styles, plus a few hybrid designs in between. Yes, as long as the joint size and gender match. Many bongs have the same 14mm or 18mm ground-glass joints that dab rigs use. Drop in a compatible nail and your water pipe becomes a functional concentrate rig. It is one of the easiest ways to get into dabbing without buying a dedicated rig. Just make sure your bong can handle torch heat near the joint.
The short answer: a timer and a thermometer are more reliable than guessing. For quartz, most people heat until the banger glows faintly red, then wait 30 to 60 seconds before dropping their dab. Too hot and you scorch the material. Too cool and it pools without vaporizing. If you want to dial it in precisely, an eNail holds a constant temperature so you never have to guess again. Our dabbing blog has a solid breakdown of temp ranges for different materials.
While your nail is still warm (not red hot), use a cotton swab to wipe out any residue left in the bucket. For deeper cleaning, a soak in isopropyl alcohol breaks down stubborn buildup. Quartz loses its clarity over time if you let carbon accumulate, so the Q-tip-after-every-dab habit is worth building early. Titanium and ceramic can also be torched clean, but do not do that with quartz. It causes devitrification, which permanently clouds the glass. Check our dabbing guides for more cleaning tips.
Nails are just the start. Browse our 420 Nails collection for specialty options, or check out Electric Dab Nails if you are ready to ditch the torch entirely. Not sure which direction to go? Our dabbing blog covers everything from beginner setups to advanced temp control, so you can make a decision you will actually be happy with.
When I first got it, I was so disapointed,so plane Jane, just a dull all black box with a nipple to suck on.
But when I used it, things changed, it lit up into a colorful display! cool! Now I can get "stoned" at will & it feels so good!
\It's a good product, easy to use, very effective colorful eye candy.
The pipes ordered are very nice! They were packaged so carefully too. Very pleased.
Definitely holds heat longer than the cap that comes with the Hyderdyn.

Carved Wood Hand Pipe w/ Stone Bowl
This is a small glass water pipe that works well. I like that it is made in the USA and is still inexpensive.
You can only fill the round part at the bottom about half way or else you might inhale water. Other than that no issues at all.
Love the item I received
I'm loving this device! I grew up with a dead head father. He passed away 12yrs ago. So I think this is awesome! Thank you!!
