Beamer Smoke started in 2010 by two brothers (hookah enthusiasts) and has grown into a multinational company with a reputation for developing well designed and highly functional smoking products with a global demand. Beamer’s goal is to design high-quality products at an affordable price. Sold in over 45 countries and counting, and millions of items sold, customer satisfaction is Beamer’s top priority.

The Evolving Design of the Grinder

The design of the original centerless grinder was developed in the early 1900s, but it was much larger as it was used to process plant matter industrially. The design was miniaturized for pharmacies, somehow smokers discovered them, and since then companies like Beamer have been improving the design ever since.

The design initially consisted of two pieces, each with teeth and a magnet in the middle. To make the design more efficient, a third piece with holes was added at the bottom of the grinder to allow for a continuous grind. A fourth piece was then added (separated by a mesh screen) to create the modern four-piece grinder!

    Beamer Grinder Design Innovations

Of course, many innovations have taken place since then with the three- or four-piece chamber design. Some of the more recently added features include grinding teeth in all shapes, blades instead of teeth, handles and levers, clear tops and compartments, a vibration button for a kief catcher, and removable screens. With the quickly expanding market, expect to see many more design innovations from Beamer in the future.
